ROMI GAYADEEN joined Mair and Company as an associate in 2014. She carries on a general practice with a focus on commercial law, intellectual property and litigation.
Romi’s broad practice in the corporate/commercial field covers work for both local and foreign entities and private individuals. Her experience includes work in various forms of intellectual property matters, preparing or reviewing commercial agreements, preparing draft legislation for consideration, transactional company law, commercial litigation and advising clients on regulatory and compliance matters. Romi has experience working with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Freedom of Information Act. She has also worked on divorce and settlement proceedings and various probate matters.
Romi currently handles the firm’s intellectual property portfolio. She deals with trademark prosecution and patent registration. She has been involved in several successful contentious intellectual property matters.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons.) from the University of London and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Manchester Metropolitan University. She was called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 2014 and is a member of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago. She undergone training in patent examination and advanced patent examination.
