Victoria Farley

VICTORIA FARLEY was called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in May 2017. Previously, Ms. Farley had a distinguished career in Foreign Service of Trinidad and Tobago from 1996 to 2012. She was the Deputy/Acting High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom accredited to Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany from 2002 to 2009, where she was also the bridge to the Commonwealth Secretariat. She represented the country both regionally and internationally at various United Nations, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings and international conferences.
She was the Liaison Officer with respect to the Arbitration between Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago in accordance with Annex VII of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 2005, as well as with respect to the Judicial Committee on the Privy Council, London, United Kingdom, in some notable matters involving Trinidad and Tobago.
Ms. Farley was also the Director/Deputy Director of the Multilateral Relations Division for three years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She also worked in the Consular, Information Division and Protocol and Americas Divisions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1996 to 2002.
Prior to joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Farley was a Secondary School Teacher and also was an Assistant Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Examiner in English.
Ms. Farley holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the University of Huddersfield, UK. She gained her Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (LPC) at the University of Law (formerly College of Law). She received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Spanish and English at the University of West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, as well as her Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations.
